The Western Flyer has been home to fishermen, scientists, sailors, and storytellers for nearly a century—so you can bet this old Monterey seiner has some stories to tell! On the eve of its return voyage to the Gulf of California, join the Western Flyer Foundation and Monterey History & Art Association for an evening of remarkable tales, unforgettable characters, and a glimpse into its next great adventure!

6:00 PM – Welcome & Mingle

Explore the Steinbeck in Monterey and Bounty of the Sea exhibits while enjoying wine, beer, and appetizers. Meet the Flyer crew before the storytelling begins!

7:00 PM – Stories from the Western Flyer

A lineup of captivating speakers will share true tales from the Flyer’s legendary past and exciting future.
